Apple posted huge year over year increases in revenue and net income in its Q3 '10 earnings released today, boosted by its new iPad, plus continued growth in iPhone sales.

Revenue reached $15.7 billion in the quarter, versus $9.73 billion a year ago. Net income jumped from $1.8 billion to $3.25 billion.

The company shipped 3.27 million iPads in the quarter. The number of iPhones shipped reached 8.4 million, up from 5.2 million a year ago, but down from 8.75 million shipped in the previous quarter.

iTunes revenue reached $1 billion in the quarter.
