Tuesday, July 21, 2009

Qwest Communications has extended its DirecTV contract for another five years.

The phone company said it "will provide an enhanced customer experience through streamlined customer support and the development of integrated products and services in partnership with DirecTV."

Qwest first signed with DirecTV in 2004. Under the new deal, Qwest customers will be able to receive DirecTV's DVR scheduler, which provides both recording capability and the ability to order VOD programs from any Internet-enabled computer. Qwest recently boosted its top Internet speed to 40 Mbps.

Qwest also plans to offer integrated calling features allowing for voice mail messages, caller ID alerts, tracking incoming and outgoing calls, and return calls using a DirecTV remote.
